Our class includes the search and discovery of vital records, DNA, military records, cemetery records, census records, and various historical material.

You can also learn to scan and repair old family photos, store them in a file, and compile a family book.

Vital Records

This class session emphasizes the difference between primary and secondary documentation and how it can be used, including DNA.

Cemetery Records

This class discusses and demonstrates the various ways to locate and conduct research in the cemetery.

Military Records

The history and location of military wars and records will be described in this class. The military history of America will be reviewed.

Census Records

The history and use of census records will be explained in this class. Studying the categories of census records and how to use the information will be stressed.

Wills and Court Records

This class will feature the location and use of various court records for determining lineage.

Historical Records

A review of various records of history will be discussed in this class which includes the “Great Migration” period from Europe to America.

International Searches

A search for information, history, and documents will be emphasized in this class as it applies to countries outside the USA. Some of these countries include England, Scotland, Ireland, Germany, Russia, France, and Italy. Ellis Island records will also be included.

Land Records

Locating and using land records owned by our ancestors will be the goal of this class. A review of the various kinds of land records available will be discussed.

Misc. Clues and Research Tips

Special research topics will be introduced as material used for indentification. Topics include determining the age of photographs, clothing, and hair styles.Other tips on the customs and artifacts of our ancestors will be revealed. (Bring your family photos to this class.)
